I´m still alive, believe it or not

Some times ago asked me about help in designing a sniperrifle for one of his Mass Effect story-OC´s. I said ok and so he sended me his ideas and I started to make it in C4D.

He wanted something special, A hybrid-weapon which uses thermal clips and bullets. After a lot of thinking and modelling I cam up with this big bad bastard. We decided to call it M.A.C.H. L2 REX "Last Light".
Now some facts about it: It has 10 rounds in the drummag and on in the anvilchamber. Within the mag is a thermal clip which takes all the heat from the components of the gun during firering. The bullets is made of three parts: A 20 mm fin-stabalized titanium projectile, a sabot cage and a cartridge. When fired the cartridge gives the projectile and the sabot the starting power. It gets more energie by the 3 magnetic coils around the barrel. When the bullet finally leafs the barrel, the sabot falls away and it has a very high and unhealthy speed. To stablize the weapon it has a heavy bipod and a monopod in the back, a high effectiv flashhidder and a special shock absorbing system in the sholderstock wich uses ferro-fluids to compensate most of the recoil. Also a very special feature is the scope. it combines a sniper scop with high effective optics and digital binocs. The binocs can be taken out of the gun so it is perfect for field observation. It has laser distance detector, IR lights and a targeting computer to mark and track the targets. When you´re ready with the obervations you can put it back into the scope and you have all the informations back (This idea is partly taken from Crysis ).
The gun is more than 150 cm long (my Widow is something about 120cm) and mostly made of lightweight material like carbon, aluminium, titanium, ... but all in all it has it´s weight. It is modular and usable for left and righthanders (but lefthanders have to live with the shell-ejection on the left side).

Th gun was basic idea by , the design is made by me like most of the specail features on this gun like the mag, scope anti-recoil systems. Also toke the idea of the magnetic coils and the holo status interface from my Cerberus minigun [link]
